Raced Stump Jump in S.C. as part of the US Cup East/SERC Series rnd #3 this past weekend. I raced XC1 -30+ and the fiild was stacked with over 30 of the South Easts best racers. The weather a perfect in the low 70"s and sunny.

The trails were fast and twisty for the most part with some steady climbs on the backside. My race was a bit shorter than the first two with 3 laps at 7.5 miles a lap. Total climbing was1,250ft. I was 7th on the hole shot and stayed with the leaders for most of the 1st of 3 laps. Lost sight of the leaders on the long climbs on the backside of the course and spent the rest of the race duking it out with the top third of the feild for a 12th place finish. Felt really good it's just a little hard for this Florida boy to climb as fast as the rest of these guys.

Looking forward to round #4 of the US Cup East/SERC Series on May 1st in Winder, GA. Will update as I go.

Did 40 mile ride with the group. Big group, fast. Broke away before 1st sprint zone w/ Joel and Danny Chavez, Ken Vita and a strong boy from FL Velo. Got smoked by Ken and Danny in the sprint. Normalized power was 337 for the 21 min break. OUCH!

Recovered quick and rolled solo at sub-LT for 7-8 miles until the group caught me right before the second sprint. Rode the last 20 miles at tempo pace with the Gearlink boys and my athletes. Beautiful weather, excellent ride and a good day in the saddle.
